Lorena Rosas
Lorena Rosas is a visual artist from Bogotá who, through her brushstrokes, some more figurative, others more abstract, seeks to generate a unique emotional experience. She graduated from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in graphic design, but soon discovered her passion for experimentation and personal expression without restrictions. Her self-taught training has allowed her to live in the midst of a constant search for knowledge and multiple techniques. She ventured into the representation of women, gender issues and childhood. In aesthetic terms, her work is distinguished by the fusion of figurative and abstract elements where the serenity of her feminine figures of an intimate and at the same time alienating character stands out.
Through her brushstrokes, some more abstract, others more figurative, Lorena Rosas reflects the deep connections of the past with the present. Her work, apart from reminding us that most of our psychological processes have their origin in the memories of our childhood; also leads us to reflect on the immutable condition of tenderness and innocence. An exploration of the feminine gender, where classical elements, situations and juxtaposed objects are fused, generating a sort of deconstruction of original staging, with a permanent interest in the human relationship with nature and its tensions.
